About me
"The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see." -- G.K. Chesterton

For the last decade I've been trying to consolidate an engineer, a traveler, a wannabe anthropologist, an artist, and a lover of languages into one person. It's been messy. I tried doing that while working as an automation engineer in manufacturing. Well..it didn't work.
Don't get me wrong...I love problem solving and innovation, I love research, and I love leading a team! But that 24/7 manufacturing environment was not allowing me to develop or explore the artist/anthropologist who wants to travel, teach and learn new languages. My life had become one-dimensional. Within three years, I started feeling empty. "I feel dead," I even told a friend once!
I tried hobbies. I tried cheesy self-help books. I tried personality assessments hoping they could point me in a new career direction. I cried. I yelled. I tried to convince myself that I had already chosen the correct career path. Three more years went by and nothing had changed. I know, I know...that lifestyle had to stop.
Here, I write about my transition. Join me as I travel this new unknown journey.
